Default I need help finding an old product

Does anyone here remember a product that they used to use to product a fuzzy, velvet-like finish on interior trim? I know it was a two-part process. First you had to spray the adhesive, then you'd apply the fuzzy stuff.

I've noticed that a lot of the interior parts in the mid-80's New Yorkers had a similar fuzzy finish, and my Dodge's glove compartment is also finished with it.

My father once used it to make himself a custom dash for something, but I can't find his phone number right now and I doubt he'd remember what it was called, anyway.

Well, I don't know about the product in question, but I'd approach the problem this way:

1. Spray contact adhesive on surface to be treated.

2. Allow contact adhesive to tack for 5-10 minutes.

3. Rub cat on now tacky surface.

4 Trim to desired length.

Step 2.5: de-claw cat
Step 2.75: tape cat's mouth shut

Nice, Jim.

But finding a cat the right colour will be hard. For example, where does one find a burgundy cat? Let me guess. I'm supposed to dye the cat an appropriate colour first?

I guess what I really need to do is to take a picture of the stuff. Maybe then someone will know what I'm talking about.

It's like a short spray on velvet right? I think they still use it to line Buick's glove box. TO be honest though....I'd jsut take it apart and put down some glue and velvet and trim and re-assemble.

Yeah, that sounds like the stuff. it's been around for years, and they used to sell the stuff in JC Whitney, but I can't find it now.

I need it to recover a few parts that are really too complex to attempt covering with actual fabric, so I'm holding off on trying to do it with straight fabric until I can determine whether or not I can get ahold of the aerosol stuff.
