| Oh Nooos......Brett's Car!!!! For those of you who don't know, SaturnSpot.com's Owner, Brett might not be a fellow Saturn owner anymore. Basically what happened is one of two things:
Head Gasket Blew: around $1000 to fix
Cracked Block: much more $$$
Brett's car has a good 100K on it, and being a 1998 won't be worth much and fixing it might cost more than what the car is worth. Brett might have to get himself another car, and being a college student buying a new Satty might not be on his list.... |

| Head gasket isn't too bad if you do it yourself. The timing chain is the biggest pain in the ass of the whole job. I'd be surprised if you couldn't nab the gasket set for $150 and just go to town on it over the weekend. |

| If he's in college, a new car is his best bet. Something 1-2 years old that still has a warranty is what I'd go for if at all possible... Quote: |

It's possible, but not ideal. Doesn't matter anyway since he needs a whole new motor.
