question about manual trannies So I read on HowStuffWorks about manual transmissions, and it talked about double clutching. It says you first release the clutch and put it into neutral and then rev to the recommended RPM for the next gear. My question is why do you have to rev it? When you release the clutch, does the RPMs go to 0 right away or what? Because if you are upshifting then the next gear is going to use a lower RPM, right? Or is double clutching only for downshifting? |
