Default Radiator StopLeak possibly bad

This past weekend I replaced my leaky water pump. The leak ended up to be coming from the bearing seal around the shaft, but the gasket was falling apart anyways.

When I took off the old pump, I found that the weep hole in the block was plugged solid with what I suspect to be stopleak. I put some in approx 5 months ago when my radiator was leaking. soon thereafter I replaced the radiator, and upper hose. I then did a full system checmical flush and refilled with fresh, clean, brand new coolant.

I just thought I woudl share this info as something to think about before you put any in your car. I am not entirely sure of the purpose of the weep hole, but I dont imagine that it's being blocked was good. Btw, I cleaned out the hole with a small roofing nail I had in my tool box.

On a side note: I did the entire water pump replacement from a combination of above the car and through the wheel well. And I did not remove the AC as previously reccomended. Overall it took me about 2 and a half hours. Next time it will take far less. The tricky part was getting the pulley bolts off then back on. once I figured out what bolt to jamb a piece of wood against for removal, I was set. putting the pulley bolts back on was another story. lol Oh yeh, and I made a total mess with the RTV

unless your stranded on the side of the highway in bumscrew nowhere DO NOT, EVER USE any of the rad stop leaks, they clog up the more important coolant journals in the BLOCK where you cant clean them out! some turn to a rusty mud, others turn to a jello like substance ALL BAD FOR YOUR COOLANT passages, that stuff is JUNK AND FOR EMERGENCYS only. glad your situation worked out but never, ever use ANY rad stop leak unless and absolute emergency (tip, being broke down in union new jersey does NOT consitute an emergency, now being somehwere in south dakotoa, THATS a emergency! LOL)
