Default Ran the 1/8th mile in the ION

I am pretty happy with my times. I beat a lot of cars, some I did not expect to beat. People were complimenting me on the times.

My reaction times were all over the place, from .512 to 1.?? LOL. I was breaking traction pretty bad in 1st and a little in 2nd. Better tires would be a big help, stock tires suck! My best kill was a newer Honda Accord V6 coupe with intake and exhaust. My car is stock besides the CAI.

My ION was in the Left lane, car #57. I lost this race to a late 80's Sentra, gutted with JDM V-Spec engine swap??? Whatever that means, the car was pretty fast though.

if it was a jdm v spec engin it would be from a skyline if it was a qr25de engin it was from the spec v sentra. I can not remember the number on the v-spec engin right now. The spec v is a nice quick car I had an 02 spec till I got my Ion in June. The lease was up and the buy out would have cost me more per month then the new Ion. Stupid bank rates anyway I like the ion just not as fast as the spec but still not a bad car. And a 0.4% interest you can not get a better deal. Well I guess 0% would be a bit better but 0.4 will do for me. The bank wanted 7% on a buy out as they cansider it a used car.

I went to the Nissan dealer before I bought my ION, the sales person told me not to waste my money on a SE-R Spec - V. LOL. He was bashing them hard, he wanted me to buy a Mazda 3 instead???

The car I was talking about (the one that beat me) was a late 80'd Nissan Sentra with a JDM V-Spec engine, not a Spec-V engine. Not that I know what I am talking about, but that's what he told me. He was quick, running with civic hatchbacks with JDM DOHC V-tec swaps.

Ugly POS car, but fast

Bill

hmm what was he saying to bash them. I thopught it was a good quick car. I have heard of a few problems but have not experienced any of them. The only reason I do not have it still is it was stupid to buy it out at the interest rate on used cars. They have good handling and you could throw it around in the corners stock at sppeds I would never think of doing with the ion stock set up. The Ion handels great but does not have the sport tuned suspention I am used to from that car. I think the ion with a bit of tuning could be as quick and handle just as good if not better.

He was saying it wasn't worth the money and I'd be better off with the Mazda. Probably just got a bigger kick back from the Mazda.
