Default Saturn Sleeper? Whats your touch?

Ok. I'm putting this up because everyone has different taste. Some have a wild side, some are more clandestine. Either way. If you're building a subtle yet slick saturn, what modifications do you do inside and out? Small little things that are cool and make it a sweeter car. I'm asking so I have ideas for when I get my new 95 sl2.

My touch?

Clean, clean, clean.

I stress being very clean and professional. I like to think that my work shows in my car. Nothing outrageous, just clean, cool, and collected

I haven't particularly done much to my car, but there are 2 major things to pay attention to that I think often make the difference between a nice looking car and a tacky looking car.

1) good use of color. Not too many, know what goes together, and used in the right places (related to #2) and amounts.

2) attention to body lines. Color changes should take place at body lines typically. A spoiler should go with the body lines (if the car has crisp edges, a curvy spoiler would look "off", and vise versa). In the case of your future SL2, you have some crisp body lines, but some curviness. It's a great looking design, IMO.

Subtle yet slick...

I concur to Shaolin's "Clean Clean Clean" policy. Whatever you do, make it look like it was supposed to be there. Some ideas that pop into my mind are LED Dome Light, LED Clear Corners, Blinking Side Markers, A Stock Spoiler, Tinting, Lowering, Intake-Exhaust-Ported TB, Rims & Tires, A Modestly Amplified Stereo, and make both the interior and exterior clean.

I like having a mandrel bent exhaust system that contains one catalytic convertor, one resonator, and one muffler per cylinder bank.

I also like ceramic coated headers.

Nah, but seriously, clean is always better. Performance before aesthetics. Aesthetics can come if they're a significant aid to the driving experience or very cheap (i.e. do it yourself). Why try to make your car look fast when it's not? And if there is ever a need for drastic body mods, no kits. Just subtle ground effects which heighten the overall look of the car; not become the main event.

That is my personal preference.

^^^ Well put.

Just make sure form follows function whenever you are considering something, that's how a lot of things can get ruled out.

Wheels smaller than 17" also don't draw nearly as much attention, and can be found in much lighter weights than larger units.

Spend your money where it will count the most, such as engine, suspension, tires, brakes, etc. Don't be shy when it comes to making expensive parts look as if they're stock if that's what you want to go for.

You'll find that a car with an aggresive stance, wide 15-16" wheels with sticky tires, stock body lines, and an aggresive engine tone will have a very nice look all it's own, and often with good reason.

Oh yeah, and if something's broken - fix it. No sense in trying to make a car fast if it doesn't even run right to start with. Start by getting the car in good shape stock, then make it better than stock.

very true, make sure your stuff is running properly before you start putting money into it to make it perform, or at least replace the parts with higher quality ones.

I always think its fun to remove stickers such as "GT" - anyone who knows anything about the car will know what it is on sound and sight alone, but their are always the idiots that think its not... My friend has a 11 second Turbo Eclipse and he put a "GS" *i belive* sticker on the back... dont know if that helps with a saturn but oh well.
