| The Unfortunate Incident of the Saturn and the Pole!!!!!!!!! Last friday i had a "fun" time. My buddy got a new motorcycle and I was pulling into a parking space next to it. Rather than looking at the space I was intending to move into and make sure it was clear of badness I was staring at the bike going "o0o0o0o0o shiney bike!'. This was weird becuse i'm not even that intrested in bikes, to damn dangerous for me. Anywho this resulted in my pulling INTO a large telephone pole that was at the front of the parking space. my suspensions was unhappy with me for my tire hit the pole dead on (i was turning left into the space and hit the pole because I didn't stop turning left and the tire hit the pole first for it was sticking outside the fender). My other friend was in the car with me he managed to yell out "DUDE THERES A POLE THERE!" but alas he was to late.
Ahh I was sad. Surveying the scene in the dark parking lot told me a fender, wheel and tire were a deffinate, and I speculated severe suspension damage. Jacked it up, put on the doughnut and nursed her home very very gingerly. While riding home i noted the wheel was at a 90 degree angle to the road. This is bad i thought. Pop it on jackstands around 9 and by 10 i'm in bed sleeping...i have a long day awaiting me.
Wake up at 730 go out and start lookin at what needs to be done. Sway bar bent, strut assembly bent, lower control arm ball joint dead, steering rack toast, and while i'm at it lets put a new steering knuckel on i can garantee my wheel bearings and hubs arn't happy. Praise jesus my subframe was not FUBAR.
Junkyard gives me all I need for like $250. I work at a dealership so mounting a new tire and an alignment will be free. Today I got all the broken suspension bits off (driver side strut assembly, steering knuckle, lower control arm, and sway bar). then I put all new suspension bits on. Now I have a good suspension and a very unhappy steering rack. So tommorw rather than spending easter with my family I get to spend it under my car, putting a steering rack in! YAY!
Well **** happens and what you gonna do? I'm 20 and been driving for 4 years with no accidents but its gotta happen sometime. I'm just glad i can do this **** myself so I dont have to report it and have my insurance rates go way up.
On a positive note I did see Grindhouse tonight, my god see this movie. You do not know what a good movie is untill you see it and then you say "damn that was a great movie"

| couple years ago, I was parked at a walmart in my old ford f-150, right infront of one of those cart returns.. i started my truck up, and just as i started it, as I reached for the shift knob to shift into neutral in anticipation of reversing.. my clutch gave and truck lurched forward and knocked the entire cart return rack about 4 feet forward blocking off that lane.
Talk about embaressing.. my wife was like, see thats why I wont drive a manual, you cant control it.. I have yet to convince her otherwise, but luckily it was a F-150 so I didnt even have a dent

| haha cart returns rule, i worked at a supermarket and we had one of those nor'eastern storms where a huge gust of wind came through, literally picked up the thing, and threw it across the parking lot.
apparently in the previous 5-6 years nobody realized that the water inside had evaporated and when we checked the others afterwards (with lots of sand to fill them with) myself and another guy could literally pick the thing up with one hand, and move them out of the way.
turns out the owner of the store was liable for the damages and personally had to shell out thousands in repairs. luckily, i was smart enough to park away from the other employees (so i could leave without having to see anyone- i hated my job) so the satty was fine |

| lol , i'm working at a grocery store right now with those shopping cart "huts." me and my bro actually managed to fit our satty INSIDE the empty cart hut. We just wanted to do it for fun. Oh the joy of never having to worry about finding a parking place. When the parking lot is full on the day before thanksgiving or something, i'll just pull right in there, mwhaha. |

| haha sweet, there's even room to spare.
Did the corolla have a sunroof? If I'm at work, and there's a hailstorm, I'll park mine in there so my sunroof glass doesn't shatter! and all the glass for that matter.
