Default What can I expect for Mileage after mods.

I have a 97 Sl sohc w/ 5spd with over 125,000 miles. I average 40mpg in the daily crawl into Los Angeles. If I do any mods, such as WAI and free flow exhaust, what kind of MPG gains might I expect. Just trying to figure out if the gains will offset the cost of the mods over the next year or two.... Thanks for any input....

With my SL2 I never saw any gains, still getting 25mpg.

I have a 3" WAI and its just there for the sound. I flog the hell out of my car every once in a while, but i do 95% city driving, averaging at about 22 mpg with a few full throttle runs.

I've found that freeing up the exhaust seems to increase gas mileage the most. At least, on my '98 SL2 it did.
