| Whats the fastest quarter for a STOCK Saturn SC2 Im assuming that the SC2 would be the fastest in the quarter, Im not counting the new IONs. I am curious for the number also the average for them. This is completely stock as well.
The reason I ask is because there have been a lot of people with my 02 EX Coupe STOCK, that can pull a time below 16. It was rated at like 16/9 by car magazines but people have repeatedly pulled 15.9 and 15.8s which is damn good for our cars. Im curious because I want to take my car to the track this summer with the AEM, and possibly a different tire since mine are wearing down and see what I can get. |

| 5 speed, straight from the factory. No intakes, no weight reduction, no reduced tire psi....NOTHING. A 1/2 second is a big difference. You're moving from a auto to a speed, welcome to reality

| a lot of it comes down to the driver/seat time...if they have a lot of seat time then they will pull out insanely awesome times for a stock car

| Def. let me know your times. Cause if you are running just an intake and so am I it would be interesting to see, PM me the results if you want too.
So the first gen SC ran basically a 16 flat, but aren't the newer 2nd and 3rd gens a bit heavier? |

| Didn't the guy from Arizona have an SW2 that hit 15's stock? I'll see if I can find the details...
EDIT: It was RJ, from Tempe, and Saturn Racing Group. I could have sworn he posted a story about a new SW2 hitting a high 15...

| Found it on Saturnspeed; here's the quote: Quote:
My Son comes out with my old 98 SW2 five speed. I put this car back to stock a while back and put it up for sale. I never took it to the strip. It felt like a quick little Satty but I never paid it much attention. It's not a pretty Saturn.
Ok Ok so Patrick goes up to the line with another Satty, a white 95 5-speed it was. I'll not name the driver this time but he works at Saturn of Tempe. It has a performance clutch and flywheel. It has an air-intake. The 98 SW2 has nothing. I mean nothing. Not evan a K&N drop in filter.
They stage. revs come up. Patrick cuts a .509 light. I'm thinking good cause that 95 is going get him. Tires spinning on both of em. They come past us just as they hit 2 gear. Patrick hits 2nd gear first, tire spin. The 95 hits 2nd gear, tire spin, but the SW2 still has the lead. As they drive away you can tell they both hit third and the SW2 is still in front. But we know the 95 will get him at the top of 3rd. It didn't happen the SW2 gets the win light with a 16.120 and the 95 comes in with a 16.503. All of us Saturn gang are standing there with our jaws on the pavment. Thinking no way that can't be the timing has to be off. Well to make a long story short the next run out that 98 stock SW2 clicks off a 16.039 and the next run at (15.929), and then (15.999) to back it up. What the H is this?, how can this be. I have no idea but that lil wagon will flat freaking run the 1/4 mile. Patrick says..........MODS TO COME.
| Now, I know you were asking about an SC2, but hey, this story was just too good.
