Default Saturn Makes 'Outlook' SUV Official!

Saturn Grows Its OUTLOOK: Saturn announced that the latest in our growing lineup of vehicles will be a midsize crossover sport utility vehicle named "OUTLOOK." The Saturn OUTLOOK is slated for production in late 2006 as a 2007 model.

"The OUTLOOK will be a key vehicle in our strategy to grow the Saturn brand," said Jill Lajdziak, Saturn General Manager. "It will get us into the expanding midsize crossover segment with a vehicle that features dynamic design and a refined, sophisticated interior."

With the announcement, Lajdziak also confirmed that Saturn's 2007 sport sedan, scheduled to enter production during summer 2006, will carry the name "AURA.” The new sedan takes its name from the award-winning concept car that also heavily influenced its interior and exterior design.

For those of you keeping count, by the end of next year the growing Saturn lineup will feature six models:

1. The ION small car
2. The VUE compact SUV
3. The RELAY family utility vehicle
4. The SKY roadster
5. The AURA sport sedan, and
6. The OUTLOOK midsize crossover SUV

Yay for the outlook - the SUV that sounds like a joint venture between Saturn and Microsoft! Will probably be a decent vehicle, tho.

sounds to me like something of the Ford Freestyle variety with that name..

then again the pictures Kelly posted of the new Lambda platform show it otherwise, more of a tahoe like chasis..

ever notice how Saturn doesn't call the relay a 'minivan'?

I think there is a reason they don't call the Relay a minivan. Who the hell would want to drive a minivan? It's all to bump up sales.
