Default How many 5-speeds have lost there clutch already?

Got a friend she has 62k on a '03 Vue and the clutch is DONE. The thing will not even shift out of Neutral it's so bad! The stealership want $1,800 to put a new clutch in it after the sold it to her 20k ago for $14k in Feb.!!!

They are threatening her with "don't bother taking it anywhere other than here cause they will not be able to fix it"!! They told her some line of BS about a computer hook-up that only they have!!

I think she should take it to a independant GM mechanic and have them put a new clutch in it. Sounds like the slave cly. or clutch master cyl. goes bad on them if she can't get it out N when it's running.

my neighbor had the same problem. The saturn dealer said $2000, and they were the only ones that could fix it. He took it to his mechanic for the last 20 years at a firestone service center, they fixed it in a day $900
al they had to do was call the auto parts distributor they deal with and had all the necessary parts in and hour.

My dealer here is constantly lying to me left and right.

Just went in for water pump and they said a coolant sensor was bad and the readiator was shot and it wasnttried to charge me $700 for all that and the sensor cost me $6 and 5 minutes of labor.

About six months ago, my o2 sensor on the header went poopy so i replaced it. I was having probs with something so i took it in said that all this stuff was wrong most of which was the o2 sensor i just replaced. so i took it home and "markeed" it and took it back to be fixed. Got the car back, charged me over $100 for the o2 sensor and it was the SAME one i put on there. I told them about it and showed them the pic i had took of it beforehnad with my digi camera, and told them i was taking them to court.

Now i get free lifetime oil changes and inspections, and I got $2000 cause we settled out of court

Thats why I cant trust some Saturn dealers anymore

Well done. I always make sure parts are replaced when I take it to a shop. These dealerships are unreal. I'm almost happier when the car is off warranty so I can do the work right and not get cheated.

also why i always ask for the old parts back. if they need them for core i tell them i want to inspect them myself. I can't remember for sure where i seen this but i remember reading they have to show them if you ask to see them.
