Hi,

Could some please help me with this?

I just read two trouble codes. P0401 that I've read before, and this time P0341.

Last time I took off the EGR valve, cleaned it and the air pathways, but it is still comes back.

The P0341 is new, never seen it before. Might these be two seperate problems?

The car runs OK, just a little rough at idle. It has 108,000 miles, and has been very reliable.

Thank you in advance for any advise.

P0401
If you have ever replaced the EGR valve you may have the wrong EGR valve. If no then you have insufficient EGR flow during decell. If the EGR is good and clean and the passages for the it are not carbonned up then it may be that the valve it self is not opening enough. Cure at that point is to repalce the valve.

THe P0341 is a cam position sensor code. With the mentioned rough idle that you have this would be why you are getting this code. The cam sensor on these cars is actually an ignition voltage sensing system. If you have anything that causes a misfire, more so on the 1-4 cylinders or disturbs the 1-4 cylinders, it will set this code. Have a look at the plugs, wires and coils to see if they are ok.
Worn out plugs, open wires corrosion at the coils and plug wires.

Double Thank you!

I cleaned the EGR ports according to your procedure in a later post. That appears to have taken care of the P0401 trouble code.

Changed plugs and wires and that appears to have taken care of the P0341 trouble code.
