Default difficult shifting

Ok . Another problem from my 93' SL2. I'm having a very difficult time shifting after taking it for a drive more than 45 minutes. It is very hard to get in and out of gears. I cannot see where to add manual transmission fluid. When I had my escort years ago this was an easy thing to do. Is there any reason other than needing more transmission fluid that it would be hard to shift? Maybe the shift cables?

Thanks

You'll need to get a funnel and fill the tranny fluid in the tranny dipstick tube, to add tranny fluid.
You could be in need of new shifter cables, if tranny fluid change doesn't improve your shifting.
Right now on one of my saturns (I have a 98 SL2 with 207K and a 98 SL with 180K) I will be changing the shifter cables as I can't get it into first gear.
I'm having a good independent auto shop install the OEM Cables, the aftermarket are cheap and crap.

oh damn ok so I'll look for the dip stick but I swear I couldn't locate it when I looked yesterday. In the Ford it was nice and bright yellow. Any hint as to where the location is?

Check the fluid level. The dipstick (and fill hole) is basicly under the left side of brake booster. If not covered in oilly dirt the flip up handle is red. If the fluid is not a nice looking newish red colour of fresh ATF fluid then change the trans fluid. Should be about 2.5 quarts of ATF.
