Let's not forget the First gen 91-94 SOHC Intake!

Using a 91-95 DOHC Injen or other brand intake, late 80's early 90's Cavalier/Sunbird TB attachment and some exhaust piping with rubber connectors, it is a perfect fit!

I bought the ebay one, the one with the slots to hold it to the battery tray

It's nice, some cutting of the splash shields required

I cant tell a difference, it might even be a little quieter then the WAI was.

It does have a smaller filter though..

How much of the splash shield did you guys cut away? The filter is very protected now, I would say water could not get to it unless i submerged it, but I'm wondering how much I need to cut away for the sake of airflow. I cut a 3*3" piece out of the front, and it's not enclosed to begin with. just wondering..

Just a note, I don't think 0-60performanceparts.com exsists anymore. Also, I don't see the Dr. Speeedy intakes on ebay anymore.

I've never heard of someone cutting the splash shield, but I guess it would definately help in getting cold air to your intake. I would be worried about water getting in there as well. BTW has anyone ever hear of the Secret Weappon intake? It's made by Weapon-R. Here is a link to the intake. Weapon*R Racing Development
They also make a Dragon intake, although I am not sure of the difference. From reading their material it sounds as if this is a completely different design from all other intakes. Also, I like the look of the SW intake. If anyone has heard anything about these I would love to hear it. Thanks.

Has anyone used the MQT intakes advertised on ebay? I can't see anything about CARB approval on it. Also, if these are not CARB, are there any that are reasonably priced that will pass smog? I'm sorry, but 250 bucks is just too much for 5 hp. Oh, and I'm not talking about a short intake either.

Its cheaper and better performing to make your own

You're right, it is cheaper and better to build your own, but I need to be smog legal. Not only would it be a pain in the a#% to change it just to smog check, it would also be an extra ticket if I get pulled over for something else. Maybe I could get one of those cheaper K&N deals and just build a ram air duct to feed that. The ram air technically wouldn't be an engine mod.

Mine passes NYS emmissions. Just make sure the IAT is in the proper place on the intake.
