 my cars first drag trip (long)
well its like my 10th but ive never taken my new 96 SC2 to the track. only my 92 that got wrecked. and well i went friday night test and tune.... before i made it to a stop in the staging lane they announced that they was shutin down due to adverse weather in the area. so i went back saturday for an et braket racing event. a 5 dollar rain day upgrade. i must say i was highly impressed. first run out of the box in this car pulls a 16.217@85.37mph. during the long long long open run time we had before eliminations i experimineted in various launches and shift points. the worst i did was 16.330 and i missed 3rd that run. finally after getting consistant at runing low 16.2s all the time i decieded for the last run before elims to use the water box just to get a free burn em all to hell chance. didnt change a thing in the rest of the run but it pulled a 15.824@85.99mph!!! where the hell did that come from. my 60 foot time decreased greatly and the rest of the run was pretty much identical. the service engine light was on the whole day cause during the first run one of the intake air temp sensor wires broke. no biggie. after sitting for almost 3 hours it came time for elims and dialed in a at 15.9 figuring if i do a burn out and run decent in should give me some leeway at the end. well it worked perfectly excepted i redlighted with a .487 r/t and ran a 15.912@85.7mph. i happily left and was very satisfied and content with my relitivy stock satty. very proud owner right now. only mods are k&n stock replacement filter. aluminum flywheel with centerforce clutch and phantom grip with diffsaver. all the later one only came about cause i was tired of putting a trans in ever couple months. rock on everyone.
