Can't say I'm 'excited' about reading that. But I can't say I'm very excited about much of what GM is doing these days. More like worried sick.
This article sounds more like GM execs don't feel the U.S. has the ability any more to make kick-ass cars, so we're going to xerox the Europeans. Thanks for the article. But I can't say I'm happy about this or any other moves GM's been making lately.

Essentially Saturns aren't Saturns any more. They are rebadged Opels. Having lived in Germany for three years, I'm quite familiar with seing Opels. Hence when the Saturn Sky came out, I was already quite familiar with the Opel GT Speedster.
Opel in Europe (Vauxhall in the UK) are a low cost, moderate quality vehicle that GM sells. Actually Opel is really it's own company, but I think GM acquired it. Opel started out as a German company. The Opel Vectra (from the German site) to be the Saturn Aura http://www.opel.de/res/img/content/s.../pic01_big.jpg http://www.opel.de/res/img/content/s.../pic02_big.jpg http://www.opel.de/res/img/content/s.../pic10_big.jpg The Opel Astra that is to be the Saturn Ion http://www.opel.de/res/img/content/s.../pic01_big.jpg http://www.opel.de/res/img/content/s.../pic03_big.jpg http://www.opel.de/res/img/content/s.../pic09_big.jpg http://www.opel.de/res/img/content/s.../pic08_big.jpg http://www.opel.de/res/img/content/s...ntop/intro.jpg They will be made here, but will be Opels. Good way to get around import taxes.[/img]

EH i kinda dont like the idea that opel seems like they will be the ones makeing the choses and Saturn sorta just doing what opel says. If Saturn puts there foot down and says hey this is what Americans want in there cars and they are 50% of this then i am fine with it. I dont want Saturn to be a american way to say Opel and only all the styels are german. So i guess what i am saying is i dont want Opel to say here saturn make this put your tags on it and sell it.
