^new EPA testing procedures will likely prevent those kind of numbers even from the Corolla, FYI. Comparing any current MPG #s to those for '08 & after models will be somewhat apples to oranges. A 1 to 2 mpg drop or more is expected for pretty much all vehicles. This doesn't mean that the vehicles are actually less efficient - it's just a reflection of different testing techniques, which are supposed to be better, more fair, and more representative of the "average" driver (whatever that is).
