Default Compass

When my '08 Vue was delivered it came without a compass in the DIC. I guess the engineers at Saturn couldn't figure out how to get one to work like there manual states. Anyway I got the Harbor Freight paper in the mail today and whalla there's one in the ad for $7.99. I figure I'll try it out, whats a few bucks. I buy the thing put it in the little pocket just above the shift lever where it fits like it was made for it and I got my compass.

For all you others who want to try it's at:

HARBOR FREIGHT
DIGITAL CAR COMPASS
LOT # 94618
REG. PRICE IS $12.99
ON SALE FOR $7.99

I too was disappointed that Saturn didn't have the compass working in their '08 Vues. The owner's manual didn't say it was an option, it said I had one. When I asked the dealer about it they told me that the supplier of the DIC couldn't get the compass part to work but the owner's manuals had already been printed. Let me know how the Harbor Freight compass works out for you.

It working out great. In fact the direction displayed is almost 1 3/4 high. The unit is 2X2 , 1" thick runs on 2 AAA batts. and has an automatic shutoff if the directions does not change in 15 minutes. Like I said it sits in the pocket just above the trans shift lever.
