Default L300 wont stay running


hello, new to saturn post and need some help, L300 runs for awhile then shutsoff, gotta wait about 20 minutes or so then it starts back up and it will run for about 5minutes then back off it goes, any ideas??

sounds like a crankshaft position sensor going bad. PCM will usually kill spark and fuel when it does not get a valid signal from the CKP. Many of these sensors die from heat stress, so when they get too warm, they crap out, the PCM gets no signal, kills spark and fuel and the engine stops. Sensor cools, then works fine again.

My analysis is based on behavior of S car CKP sensor behavior. Not sure if Saturn designed the same logic into the L car PCM.

Measuring the CKP resistance when cold and when acting up should give you a good idea.
