Default Auto transmission question

Hello , I have 2007 saturn ion with 2.2 liter engine with 102 000 km...I would like to change the auto transmission fluid , I bought the filter and gasket kit. Quick question, do these pans or transmissions have a drain plug? What type of fluid needed,,,,, I was told regular dexron is whats in there already. Also , to fill it up up....the access seems tight,,,, thanks.

I do not believe the 4T45E has a drain plug.
You just drop the pan in an intelligent manner.

Use a non cork high quality gasket when reattaching. Cheapies are prone to leaks.

I would think Dexron VI BUT CHECK THE OWNER'S MANUAL.

thanks for the info...seems a bit confusing depending on which transmission is in the car,
i think i will remove the pan and calculate how many liters come out,,then replace the filter ..clean the pan and re-fill the same amount of transmission fluid that came out with dexron vi as stated....is this a good idea?

I've provided you the background info you need.

The choice as to how to proceed is yours, sir.
