see... this is ridiculous. i dont care what some dude said your engine "should" put out. if you dont have concrete (read: actual dyno) numbers, you have no business opening your mouth.

and as for your "massive downforce wing"... lemme explain the concept of leverage to you:

when a lever arm gets longer with relation to the fulcrum, the effort required to move the lever is decreased.

now, imagine your trunk lid as the fulcrum. the airfoil and its stanchions are one side of the lever, and the bolts that hold it to your trunk are the other. which arm is longer?

you see, as you hit a bump (or close your trunk), the shock is transmitted through the chassis and body. as the shock reaches the trunk and the wing, it forces the wing to move about its fulcrum (trunk lid). being that the majority of the weight of the wing is so high off the trunk lid (long lever arm), it exerts a fair amount of force, slightly deforming the relatively weak sheet metal of the trunk lid. repeat this process many, many times over many, many days (months, even), and what is the result? a bent-ass trunk lid, and some poser who thinks his "wing" generates "massive downforce" enough to require bracing the trunk lid.

god damn.

But I like his ironing board, and his stickers. They are cool as "H" and you know it's good for that other 115 hp he has.

I'm ROFLing at this PWNAGE.

Actually, the rear of the car does need to be held down at high speeds because it will lift due to its shape. Which end drives is not relevant. A wing is indeed needed there. Having said that, it'snot needed until you are doing about 200 mph. And it doesn't generate any downforce until you are going pretty fast. Then its drag slows you down. And that's all if it is a REAL wing. Most are cosmetic and do nothing. Well, a few reduce drag to save gas by controlling the way the air leaves the car but those don't make downforce. Those are factory wings. So I agree with ExHempKnight about why the trunklid is bent. I was gonna say it too.
