Default 2007 Aura Hard Shift

Mom just got a 2007 Aura with 124K miles. Beautiful car, have never spent more time reading a car's owner manual.

Problem is the car shifts hard. What's up with that? Some say it's a performance option, others say maybe it's an ECT setting??

I'm wondering if the transmission is failing.

What do you think?

Welcome to the Board.

If the trans is shifting hard/slamming under light to moderate acceleration then there is an issue. Most likely is an internal transmission problem. Possibley a high line pressure problem. THe transmission is a standard GM trans so it should not be hard to find a place that can look at it.

Hi Jay,

Sorry to hear about what’s happening with your Aura. I’d suggest speaking with your dealership regarding this concern. If you have any other questions, feel free to send me a private message.

Yep dealer is the place to go. I'd stay away from TomsTransmission&TobaccoSales.
