My guess is more moving parts = more oil comsumption.

The Cadillac Northstar engine employs this type of system. They rated it to take x.x lateral G's before certain parts of the engine would get decreased oil flow.

I would also think that the supercharger would need some sort of lubrication, thus a need for more oil.
