Default engine and transmission swap

Has anyone done an engine and transmission swap for a 2004 Saturn vue?

Will the engine and transmission out of a 2004 or 2005 Malibu 2.2 4 cyl. and transmission work as a switch?

Please contact me if you know it will work and what all needs to be used?

Thanks
Turk

Looking for information on a 2004 Saturn Vue 2.2L engine FWD with CVT transmission.

Is there an other transmission that will work in this Vue?

Or is there an other year FWD Vue transmission that will work?

Thanks

the swap from the Malibu wont work. as far as I know, any other 2.2 FWD Vue transmission will work.
and Ive read somewhere the CVT transmission aren't that good, so you might wanna look for a better transmission. I know people with the Ions had issues with them.

Everyone knows or should know the CVT transmission is no good. Saturn should have been made to replace the transmissions with a better model, as there are hundreds of VUE's sitting with bad transmissions. The junk yards I have called tell me they get them in all the time with bad transmissions, they save the engines and crush the rest.

I believe there is someone that knows a good swap for the transmissions in the 02 thru 04 FWD VUE's. Maybe someone high up in Saturn design.

Thanks

I just did a quick google search before I left for work. I'm sure there is a good transmission swap that people have done. I'll look into this better later this afternoon when I get home from work, as its something I'm curious to know too.

well, did some research.
most people either traded in/junked the car, or swapped for a manual.
the only direct fit would be another CVT. Seems like anything else, you need custom tranny mounts, harness, etc.

The only other I have learned is to take a 2006 or 2007 2.2 L Vue and have a donner car and use the tranny, computer, wiring and the under bracing or X member.

I will never buy another GM product.

sadly, I know there is a lot of people that feel that way. Its a shame that a company like GM took a fall like this. Saturns were legitimately good, reliable cars until GM took them over.
