This may sound like a stupid question, but can someone describe to me what the btsi solenoid looks like? I am having the same problem that someone just posted about the shift button sticking, and i don't know what this part looks like..any help would be great

With the center console off so that you can see the entire shifter mechanism it should be on the passenger side to the rear of the shifter mech. It will have a longish shaft on it.

Ok, another question...There is a toggle button next to the shifter that has "PERF" and "NORM" written on it. The button is obviously broken, and i don't even know what its supposed to do.

Changes shift points in the trans programming. Gives a downshift sooner and extends the time to up shift. Depending on throttle position and speed of throttle change.

Yep thats normal for the revs to go slightly past redline.

BTSI: think of a tiny shock. Its a black canister with a rod coming out with a white snap on clip at each end. they just snap off. To take the front clip off (the rod end) it may be easier to put the shifter in d2 easier
