Did you ask him how many front O2 sensors he went through? They're good for about 100K on a slight oil burner. How much does this one burn? Of course if the original Denso with the OEM part no is/was in there then it's a moot point. I assume you changed that as part of the tuneup to have a nice baseline for performance of the car.
I had a 92 SL2 -- fun little car -- used to get it up to about 100 on this one long stretch of county highway in Wisconsin. It was a bit of an added rush because the county highway went right in front of a prison so you never if/who was waiting in the driveway outside the gate.....Then the brakes came into play as there was an abrupt stop sign at the end of the run.
Car started swallowing oil at 40K mi; I was anal on 3K oil changes. I just think their variation in manufacturing was too loose in the early years to do what they were trying to do. It's a shame GM was such a dick about not letting them either fix it or replace it w a redesigned higher displ engine. Death sentence from 93 on...2nd gen updates were not really much. 3rd gen had the potential if not for the same damn oil burning engine design.
But, as usual, I digress...........

Nope. I don't know much about the S cars. The car still isn't legal because my sister hasn't gotten her license yet. Just gave it a full tune up when I bought it, and start it every week. I couldn't say no to the price, otherwise I would of waited.
But yes, I agree about GM.
I doubt they wanted the brand from the start. Just some easy extra money.

I think they did want the brand but mismanaged it from before the start.
It never turned a profit the way they were running it; rather than address it they let it wilt and die, all the time moping over how it wasn't turning a profit. No **** sherlock.

I think if they would of just let it alone in 02/03 as well, it could of done much better. If it wasn't for Saturn designing the Ion, Chevy wouldn't have a cobalt and Pontiac wouldn't have a G5

none do. They always get all pissy. Do the math, Ion was announced in 02, released 03. Cobalt was announced 04, released in 05. Just like if it was for the redline, there would be no cobalt ss, hhr ss, and whatever else had that design.
