Welcome to the forum, Austin.

It's been a bit quiet lately, but there are a handful of live inhabitants.....

I've been looking at some videos recent ally I just replaced the speakers in my doors as the old ones were blown I do have a question about subwoofers. I really don't like the idea of a amp ove heard there are ways to connect them without one using a adapter, is this true? There not huge subs but I would like them installed

You CAN run subwoofers without an amplifier. They're just speakers when you get down to it.. BUT they'll sound like garbage. Probably worse than 20 year old factory.

What gave you the idea that an amplifier is bad? Your radio has a built in (SMALL) amplifier already.

I really don't have much experience with amplifiers and I don't know how hard it would be to connect it to the battery I'm not great at wiring I mean I can change speakers out I switched my door ones out because they were blown but I have no idea how hard it would be to do a amp. Also, speaking of wiring, is it possible to connect fog lights to my sl2 it does not have the switch but I can get both the switch and the lights at a junkyard

Amplifier will be SUPER easy once it's installed you'll look back and laugh at how much you over thought it.

Power wire (fused) from battery, shortest ground to the body you can do.. then a remote (on switch basically) wire from the back of your radio to the amp.

Then you run RCA cables from your radio to the amp (obvious where they plug in)

and wires from amp to speaker.

The RCA cables use a pre amplified signal so that it's cleaner to get the best signal from your head unit.

Picture hooking up some headphones into a set of computer speakers that have a headphone jack. Know how you can turn the dial on the speakers and they'll increase the volume in your headphones? Same concept.

The ONLY challenging part is deciding how to run the wires under your carpet so that they can't be seen. You'll have to loosen some plastic and such.

You'll really want to get a new one. You'd be surprised what a modern radio with a modern amplifier can do to improve your sound.

You can find some wiring guides there as well as pictures of other setups people have done on these cars.

Even a low end Pioneer/Alpine/Sony/(insert other REAL brands here) will sound a TON better than what you have.

You could do a new radio, install kit, wiring adapter, antenna adapter for under $100 with brand new parts.
