Default How do you pronounce Ion?


Is it like eye-on or ee-on? I have always thought it was like eye-on, but then I heard someone say what sounded like ee-on (it was in different context though, it was talking about years I think. Like ions of years)

when talking about the passage of time, it is ee-on, spelled eon, I believe, but definately not spelled ion.
