^ yeah thats not exactly how that one goes. I used half generic saturn(ebay) wai and half eclispe intake to make mine and it came out in front on my wheel well.

When I was looking at ebay for a eclipse 95-98 cai I saw that there was more then one kind of a cai. There were some that looked like it turns from the tb then comes straight out and that it then was some that came out underneath the car (like posted above) which one would fit a 96 sl2 auto with slim to none moding it.

Here is the CP Intake. They also went under the Bomz name, but when you get them to your house...they are in a CP inake systems box. It is a 2.5" intake.

looks like i will have to start making intakes again....still hardly any for A/T.

I just bought a welder and pipe bender so be looking out for my intakes. they will be made of 3" aluminim that tappers down to 2.5" at the throttle body which increases velocity and pressure ever so slightly

how restrictive are the stock airboxes? would buying a new intake improve power or is it really more for looks/sound? btw i drive a second gen sl2 auto.

a warm air intake can give as much as about 5hp, a cold air as much as 10, but often results are less. The sound is the more noticeable difference.
