Default 05 Saturn Ion. Best Cold Air Intake to purchase.

Hey everyone. I'm new to the forum and need some help with selecting the right parts. I'm going to purchase a CAI and want to know the best one to get. I've researched and can't make up my mind. After finding out the AEM model for the 04 Ion will not fit the 05 Ion because of the MAF, the choices have been made slimmer.

Let me know what you think. I would appreciate it greatly.

Thanks!!!

Default check local dealer

I am not sure of the prices or the quality, but my dealership website shows a CAi system and some other fun things as now available from the dealership. Might be worth checking out...

Just glanced at the website, and they had 4 things under "performance parts", and all were for the S-Series, not the Ion.

nice catch, PurdueGuy! Not that the following has anything to do with my lack of attention to details, but. . .

Honestly I think the staff at my local parts department doesnt know an ION from a hole in the ground. Everytime I call to ask questions I get the same stupid answer, "Uhhh, well I don't know anything about that". Are parts at Saturn different from parts at any other dealership? I mean, if I wanted to order a new HU, for example, I would go to parts. If I wanted a new seat, I would go to parts. Right??

most saturn dealers don't know anything about the saturn performance parts. I work at the saturn in Elk grove in cali and the parts guys ask me all the questions on the performance parts. Saturn parts are so different from any other car and no one but saturn fans pay any attetion to them. If you want the right answer post question here or call saturn motorsports.

Thanks biggonzo. . .but I have that problem with them on stock materials. I have no intention of asking them anything about performance. . . I just want to create a nice sleeper without draining my account.

first thing on my list though is a new seat. I've put 25k on my baby in less than a year now and that's only gonna increase. wonder if the redline seat wouldn't be a bad idea. . .but I don't know if it's good for long hauls (2+ hours at a time).

Anyhoo, thanks! I will definitely search/post on here when I need performance.

Many people have made their stock air intake perform better by cutting out all the air silencers, baffles, and extra bends.

The air filtere should be replaced with a K&N direct replacement part.

That in mind, it will make more noise, so that may take away part of the sleeper factor.
