Default Intake/racing question.

My friend ensures me that because of my cold air intake if i run with out the head light in it will improve my time because the filter sits right behind the headlight. I dont know if this will do anything or what just seeing if anyone does this.

its not like a CAI is giving you 50hp at the wheels, its more like 8 if your lucky. so placement is not going to sacrifice major hp.

it might on the track, but not enough to notice it. Thats why they also put hood scoops, to get cold air hitting the car. Same thing in your situation, the intake would be sucking up the air hitting your car. But like i said, you wont notice the diffrence all so much.

Technically you would be getting more air, however it wont make that much a difference at all.

Youd gain better times learning to drive than doing that.

It would if you had a ton of power already going to the motor like nos or forced induction. But for the most part not much of a difference

the filter does not sit behind the headlight...it sits right in front of the fender lining...a few inches underneath the headlight.

i doubt you would see any noticeable gains from it...

you will, about .1-.3 quicker

every bit helps, so it couldn't hurt. I remove mine at the track whether I'm running my ram-air extension or not
