Question Anyone else have an Astra besides myself?

Have not been on the board for a while, thought I'd see if anyone else bought an astra. The sc2 blew up, and thought I'd get one. I love this car

I have changed all of the orange leds inside to White and the speedo needles are now green. And purchased "cf" style mirrors.

Anyone else?

Address is changed. I want to finish up the led conversion before I post pics. Looks so much better than the ugly orange

Cool

I have had mine for almost a month. Astra XE SilverSand automatic w/ 16" twin spoke rims, CD 30. 4th Saturn for me, love this little car.

Added wireless MP3 player, TomTom and SilverStars.

Not too may things this car needs but might consider adding CD changer w/MP3, fog lights and a strut bar if I can find one. Might upgrade the stereo system, but can live with it.

The OEM Goodyears have been good, better that the Hankooks on my old ION but when they go I will problably go with BF Goodriches, always had 'em on every ride I had.
Other than a faster engine, this car really needs nothing.

Saturn dealers are practically giving these cars away. Not because they are bad cars but to sell more and to make up for overpricing them in the first place. You can get a nice Astra as low as $13K some places.

If any of the four IONs in the family needed to be replaced I could see one here for my Wife or youngest Daughter. I'd not want one for myself and my Son does not want one. That would change if the 2.4L or a turbo 1.8L was added to the line.

Don't let the 1.8L engine deceive you, just as quick as the ion 2.2L. But that's just my opinion Then again, I was driving an auto sc2.... Have had this car for 4 months and now has 10,000 miles on it, I drive 76 miles a day to work.

Deceived ........ We have had a 5 speed Astra to Firebird and it ran 17.6's while my buddy ran 17.0's in his 2.2 ION auto, and another of the group ran 16.3's in his 2.2L 5 speed. And my Sons 2006 2.4L ION auto ran 15.9's and my 2007 2.4L ION auto ran 15.8's. Deceived ?.............. I don't think so. Thats just not my opinion ... those are the numbers the cars posted that night.

Well... besides all of the facts that you have posted, i'm still quite pleased wil my astra. Love it to death Not a big ion fan myself unless it it a redline ion. I worked for a Saturn dealership for 2 years and still can't stand the car. Again, just my opinion. Glad you and your family are happy with the ion.
