Default 2004 vue won't always start

engine really wants to turn over but won't.
when the tow truck gets here it starts fine.
otherwise runs great.
this has happened 3 times in 10 days or so.
changed the ignition module. no trouble yet. will reset computer next.
any advice?

Which engine?
When you say "turns over" do you mean that the starter is cranking the engine over (IE spinnning it)?

i mean it sounds like it's out of gas, but the battery is strong.
when in the 'on' position the fuel light comes on when it wont start, otherwise it stays off.
when it won't start the fuel pump does not start up in the 'on' position, but does run in the 'on' position when it does start.
had the ignition and housing changed and the passlock done too. no luck.
sometimes it won't start after it's been sitting all day at work, other times it's after a short drive.
when i took it to the dealership it started for them everytime so they couldn't get anything with the diagnostic.
67,000 miles and this is the first trouble it's ever given me.
when it runs, it runs great.
