Default 2000 Saturn S wipers on by themselves

Last night on the way home, my wipers turned on and did about 5-6 sweeps before turning off w/o me touching anything. It happened 2 more times before I got home.
This morning, same thing, but when they stopped sometimes it was mid sweep. If I turn them on myself, they operate, but when I turn them off, they don't park themsleves at the bottom of the windsheild.

Any ideas?

Welcome to the Board.

Most likely the wiper motor assembly. The park switch and controls are in it. The wiper switch in the car sends activation signals to the motor assembly.

Wipers become self aware and turn on/off on their own = wiper motor assembly.
