Default carpet cleaning - tar removal

Does anyone have any idea how to get road tar out of carpet? I am afraid to use 'Bug & tar remover' since it is for paint. Thanks

LOL! That's great!

Nope, sure don't. However, on this note, I've got a similar problem. Because it gets so hot down here in the south, the rubber on my doorsill (right where you put your hand to close it) melts during the day, and I wasn't paying attention and managed to transport that stuff to my seatbelt and some of the upholstry and can't get it out. Any suggestions for that crap?

correct it is only on the carpet. Not the rugs, but the carpet.
