Coolant light flashing
My coolant light is flashing and I have no idea why. You know the light above the temp gauge. It usually comes on after I've been driving for 5 minutes. Any idea why?

I heard that it would be good if you just flushed the coolant and put a new 50/50 mix into your car every few thousand miles.
I'm thinking of puting some prestone in my car, i need the brand that is for highly used car, or high mileage stuff.

check the coolant, as said, simply put, when low in the plastic tank where you fill it will make the light flash, losing a LITTLE over a long period, doesnt warant much attention, but DO monitor it, if you fill up and lose more quickly, let us know.
now, if its FULL many times the float /sensor on the bottom of the plastic tank is bad, weve seen that dozens of times, and luckily a complete tank from us is only 20 bucks with your spot discount and shipping. but check and fill first then let us know the results, thanks! Joey donuts.

The surge tank is held down by two 10 mm head bolts. You would also need to remove the coolant hose on the bottom of the tank and disconnect the electrical connector.
The cooling system would need to be drained of course, drain cock on the bottom passenger side of the rad.

There is no need to drain the radiator. There is a 10mm bolt on the bottom of the water pump that will drain the resiviour directly. Follow the hose from the resiviour to the bottom of the engine and youll see the bolt. Its going straight up into the engine. Take the resiviour out and clean it with soap and water. If the sensor is bad, a new resiviour is needed. You cant just by the float sensor
