Default leaking trunk

ok so i have been noticing alot of water has been getting in the spare tire area of the trunk. i replaced the gasket around the trunk and also checked the sunroof drains in the back and front just to be sure. i popped the trunk and soaked the top of it to see where it would be leaking from and found nothing. so i was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if not what else could it possibly be? and i have a 97 sc2 just so ya know .

I have the exact same car and a leaking trunk problem. I always find the passenger side behind the wheel well quite wet. I can't track down the leak either. No ideas but having a similar problem

If you are sure that it is not the sunroof drains then pull the carpeting from the trunk. Look for dried up water trails. Especially from the around the wheel well seams. If nothing seen get the water out of the trunk and turn the water hose on to the trunk/back window area and soak it down until it is drowned. Get into the trunk through the back seats. Use a flash light to see if any water has gotten in. If so look for the water trail.

I'm trying to solve the same problem on my '01 SC2. First thought it was the trunk gasket too, but I'm still getting water in the same spot, behind the passenger side wheel well. I'll post a followup reply here if/when I get it figured out and resolved!

I also have the same problem. I've been told that on 2nd & 3rd gen coupes, there is often not enough seam sealer here, under the rear fender.
